Week one

This past week has be amazing! It's crazy how quickly everything fell into a routine, and feels totally normal now. San Jose has been pretty great but it's really smoggy and dirty overall (like any city I guess) so I was beyond excited to be going away for the weekend. I'll try and get some photos of San Jose to show you guys this week but there really isn't much to photograph here that I've noticed.
Puerto viejo was such a dream though! It made me decide that at some point really soon I want to come back Costa Rica and spend a good amount of time there. The people were so so nice, and the hostel was one of the coolest places I've ever seen. Everything is so connected to the environment there, plus hardly anyone drives cars, everyone just bikes. The first night we got there at 9 or so in the evening, so we just chilled at the hostel for the night and met tons of people. Everyone there was either volunteer traveling or backpacking for like 6 months. The hostel had a restaurant/bar so we stayed there and hung out all night. The next day we biked for 8 kilometers to Punta Uva which was a really nice beach down the road. We met these 2 girls from Washington who decided to move to Costa Rica and chilled there the entire day. One of the girls had a rasta boyfriend who wrapped all of our hair for only 4 mil which was awesome.
The entire time there was super relaxing and grounding, it was so hard to leave! Also I didn't want to go back to sleeping in a real bed, since the hammocks were beyond comfy.
